with details below

PRO TIP #1 of 8

Arrive on time! The gondola at Crystal Mountain floats through air, not Venetian canals,  but it could leave the "dock" without you if you're late. (There is a passenger drop-off zone near the gondola base if you need it.)

ARRIVAL

Allow extra time, arrive 2:30-3:00
Use your '23-'24 pass if possible
No pass? Don't buy a ticket!

Guests need to arrive at the Mt. Rainier Gondola base between 2:30 and 3:00 pm. Summer is busy on Highway 410 and in Crystal Mountain parking lots. Base area construction means you'll need extra time to navigate even if you're familiar with the resort.

If you have purchased a '23
-'24 IKON, Crystal Legend or Crystal Premier pass, please show your ID at guest services to get your included summer gondola ticket.

I
f you don't have a pass, go straight to the gondola base. Don't buy a ticket—your ride is on us.

You'll see signs leading you to a priority upload line for wedding guests, staffed by guides who can answer any questions.

VOWS

Take a few minutes for sightseeing
Walk to the wedding platform by 3:45
Tuck away your phones and cameras

Enjoy the scenery on your ride up to 6,872' and 2,095 m!

The wedding platform is just below the gondola station. A short walk* to the ceremony site includes some rustic stairs and sloped gravel. Our guides will  show you the way and lend a supportive arm if you wish.

Look around and take photos now because we'll ask you to put away all phones and cameras when the ceremony begins.

Have a seat or find the perfect standing spot by 3:45. Our officiant, Dr. Stephan Blanford, will let you know what happens next.

*Please email us with any concerns about accessibility. Assistance is available
if needed.

REVELRY

Start with a sundeck "Bubbly Hour"
We'll move inside for the reception
• Enjoy food, festivities and dancing

Use the gondola priority line to download. Guides will direct you to the base area sundeck.

The just-now-weds will stay at mountaintop for a few photos while you launch the festivities with sparkling
drinks, beer, non-alcoholic cocktails and passed appetizers.

After a bit we'll move the party inside to Rafters and enjoy heavy appetizers accompanied by wine, beer and alcohol-free beverages.

We'll make a few toasts, say a few "Thank yous" and then DJ
Seth Cornell will start the dance party!

Gluten-free, shellfish-free, pescatarian, vegetarian guests: don't worry, we've got you! (But holler if you're still worried.)

ATTIRE

Dress in our colors if you can
• Shoes need to handle uneven ground
• Check the forecast and layer up

We like to call the dress code for this event "comfortable fancy."

Our main request is for everyone to add to the fun (and to the photos) by wearing colors in the range you see here, or in the general direction of  these colors. But it's not as if we'll turn you away if you choose not to play. "You do you" because celebrating with you is most important to us.

Wear shoes suited to walking on gravel and sloped ground. Come prepared to layer up if the day or evening gets cool. Keep in mind you'll be at an elevation where temperatures can be quite a bit lower than they are in the city. Please check the local mountain weather forecast and real-time wedding platform conditions as you prepare for this event.

LODGING

Spend a night or two, enjoy the area
• Special lodging options are below
Most guests will stay at Silver Skis

At Crystal Mountain Resort:

Silver Skis Chalet has
selected a great block of condos for our guests. Use this link to see options that aren't available to the public. Reservations made online require a two-night stay but you can arrange to stay a single night for this event by calling Andria at 360.663.2558.

Crystal Mountain Hotels is also accommodating one-night stays with the promo code WEDD-K.

RV and tent sites at the resort are available by reservation.

A bit farther away:

Greenwater VRBO and
airbnb rentals are about 30 minutes from Crystal Mountain. Lodging in Enumclaw is an hour's drive.

REGISTRY

Gifts are not required or expected
• Options are below if you want them
• Consider a donation in lieu of a gift

Celebrating with us is the best gift you could give. Still, people have been asking for ideas, so...

We've registered at Macy's to replace our tattered, 30 year-old dishes. A few additional items are at Villeroy & Boch via the wonky "My Registry" site (which will show everything and sync with Macy's...eventually).

A gift certificate for Wildflowers NW Native Plant Nursery would help us restore our yard when our home addition is complete.

LGBTQ+ couples sometimes run into discrimination  from vendors when planning their weddings. Add The Words is working to make sure everyone has the same protections we do as a couple. Donating to them would be a wonderful gift to us.
